Mid-Century Mayhem is a game concept I produced during my second year at university. The game is a 2D beat 'em up game, where you play as one of many retro characters who have their own set of abilities, such as Jeremy the Jukebox who has the ability to shoot records or spin them, causing nearby enemies to temporarily dance.
the games aesthetic is a fusion of mid-century objects and styles combined with a distinctive hose pipe animation style, resulting in a playful yet unique aesthetic.
Beneath the silly/whimsical facade of 'Mid-Century Mayhem' lies a playful but slightly more meaningful narrative, designed to resonate with children whilst subtly teach them the dangers of fake news, which can be read above.
All work from this project was produced by me.
