Dystopian 3D Environment
I created this environment for a third-year project at the University of Brighton.
The environment aims to explore loading screens and whether we will still need them in the future, and if so, what they might look like. This project explored this by redesigning the classic elevator loading scenes in Portal 2, as these scenes don’t add narrative to the game and are just used to load the player's next level in. The environment below would replace this scene and also enrich the game even more by subtly adding to the narrative via environmental storytelling, as the main focus of the environment is a broken portal frame that invites the player to question, whilst subtly adding backstory to the portal gun.
Disclaimer: I made all the assets in this environment apart from some of the small plants and the barrel 3D model which I sourced from free asset sites due to time constraints.
